I know it has been a bit since I graced these pages with ANYTHING. And I can't rightly say that I haven't had the time to, because I have. Nevertheless I feel I have things worthy of posting now, so here goes!
I went with the entire Lowe's crew plus Moma and Daddy to Bristol this year. They camped Thursday through Saturday night and I was in and out to either visit with them or go to a race. Bill and I don't camp anymore at the races. Two years of cold fierce wind, drowning rain and finally snow, changed our minds.
This year it rained on us Saturday but I expected it. I was decked out in my usual blue raincoat and my waterproof hiking boots so I was all dry and snug. We laughed so much that day my jaws hurt and I just relished in the memories we were making once again. I will put some pics on the sidebar so you can see what I mean. At one point it was raining so hard that we all huddled up under the Jimmy Johnson hauler. That was the best part! I don't see these folks as often as I once did. We are all settled down and older now but we get together as often as we can.
Me and Bill are officially on the market for a stick built home. It is a buyers market so we are doing this at a really good time. It is such a taxing process to actually decide on something this important though. I just pray and try to leave it to God to decide. I will go crazy if I don't, I can't let it consume me.
Whatever we buy is going to have to be in a good location for reselling because we only plan on living there for a few years. By then maybe the housing slump will have recovered and we can make a profit. It will also buy us some time to scrounge up some dough to buy a good chunk of property with lots of privacy to build our dream home. I've been fortunate and have never had to live in a neighborhood in all my life, I don't know how I will handle losing my privacy. We will see how that works out. I might just move to the basement.
I only have about 15 "must haves" for my future home. They are the usual stuff like CH&A, not in a flood zone, a covered porch, a basement, no sex offenders next door etc. I think I am pretty reasonable and can deal with just about anything. Evenso, one thing I cannot handle is A MINISCULE KITCHEN! I must have counter space to work and this is my biggest factor in what house gets purchased. There are few things worse than having a kitchen the size of a bathroom. If we can't find one I will gladly stay here in my tin can with the huge kitchen!
Planting time is almost upon us and I am so ecstatic I can hardly contain myself. This year I am growing everything from seed that I can. Plants are just too expensive for my taste. So I will be sowing seeds this week in my trays that I keep year after year, and this time I will wait until after Mothers Day to put them in the garden. Last year taught me a hard expensive lesson.
Whew just thinking about those ripe juicy tomatoes gets me all worked up!

For my house, I only hoped to have a dishwasher and a garage! :)
